Forever!

So, I know it has been forever since my last post, two months in fact! I don't really have any excuses other than we have been very busy. This is what we have been up to for the past 2+ months.

Nick had the opportunity to go to Boston with his Dad, Brook and his Mom to watch his Dad run in the Boston Marathon. His Father Larry always amazes me, he is over 50 years old and he can run a marathon. That is quite the accomplishment!

As of April 22nd I became a working mom. I have really been enjoying my time back to work after maternity leave. I love my job and it makes me enjoy and cherish my time home with Makenna so much more. I feel after having my own birth experience that I can relate to my patients better and I can share more fully in their joy. Every once in a while miss Makenna gets to come visit me at work and always brightens my day!
In the beginning of May we celebrated my Grandma Dorothy's 80th birthday. She is such a wonderful woman and we love her dearly! A couple of days after her party she was lucky enough to spend a few weeks in Hawaii visiting my aunt Tammy so her party had a Hawaiian theme to help get her geared up for her trip.
Miss Makenna turned 4 months old on the 25th of May. At her 4 month well check she weighed 14 lbs and was 24 inches long.
On May 28th Finn Daniel Densley joined our family. He is such a sweet boy and we are so happy that Kristl and Aaron were able to come back home to Ellensburg for him to be born so our family could share this special time with them.
Makenna started eating rice cereal. She now eats avocado, banana's and sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes are her absolute favorite so far!
Nick and I both celebrated our first mothers and fathers day. We kept our days pretty low key and enjoyed spending time with our sweet baby girl We celebrated 3 graduations in 4 days this year. My brother Garrett graduated from High School and will be going to CWU in the fall. He has been excepted into the music program and will continue pursuing his love of music.
Nick's brother Brook also graduated from High School. He is going to BYU in the fall and then will serve a two year mission for our church next year.
My Brother Mitch graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in interior design. He currently has an internship at CWU remodeling the common rooms in the student dorms.
Our sweet baby girl is now five months old. She loves to smile, laugh, eat, roll over to get to things, people watch and play with her uncles, aunties, and grandparents.
Our beautiful baby girl grows and changes constantly and we fall more and more in love with her everyday. We feel so blessed to have a healthy and happy baby. We love being her parents and enjoy every moment we have with her.

Cousins

Meet Makenna's cousins
This dashingly hansome 3 year old is Jared. He loves reading and writing letters, cars (especially mustangs), M&M's, playing soccer aka kicking a ball with whoever will kick it back at him and showing off how fast he can run.
This blue-eyed, curly haired beauty is Allyson. She loves to snuggle, play with her brother, jump on my parents bed, squeel to hear her own voice and her monkey Dangles.
This past week Jared, Ally and Makenna got to spend some time together at my parents house. Ally is really starting to be curious about baby Makenna. She walks up to her acts like she is going to touch her, squeels and then runs away or tries playing peek-a-boo with Makenna. It is really cute seeing her warm up to Makenna more and more. She is going to make a great big sister soon.
Jared so far has been really sweet with Makenna. He likes to give her kisses and help me with whatever I'm doing for her. He often asks to hold her and likes to ask a lot of questions about her. The latest question he asked while helping me change her diaper was "Why her have no pee-penis?"
Right after I laid Makenna down on her play mat, I went to wash my hands and I came back to this. Jared was "helping" her hit her toys and Ally just thought it would be fun to join in to. As you can see Makenna wasn't super thrilled about it. Don't worry, as soon as I got a picture I rescued her. This was just to darn cute to not get a picture of.
I hope that as they get older they will get to be great friends and always look forward to seeing eachother as I did with my cousins growing up.

Catching Up

Our little Makenna is growing like a weed! I haven't weighed her lately but I know she weighs quite a bit more than the 9 pounds 10.5 ounces she was at her two month check up. I'm betting she is getting close to 11 pounds now. I took this picture last night during naked baby time. Every night around 8 she gets crabby and the only thing that seems to make her happy is stripping her down to her diaper and letting her play on the floor "naked" for a while before jammies and bed.
Check out that chub! Sooo cute!

She is 12 weeks old today which means one bittersweet thing for me, I'm back to work on Thursday. I am excited to go back to work. I love my job and I really enjoy the people I work with but at the same time I LOVE being home with Makenna. I think I'll have a hard time the first couple of weeks but I'm sure it will get better. It helps that everyone she will be with I trust and know that she will be in good hands and I only work 3 days a week (12 hour shifts) so I'm home more then I'm away. Now to play a bit of catch up from the last couple of weeks.

~Easter~

We spent Easter with my family and kept things pretty low key. We had a big family dinner and later had an Easter egg hunt for the kids. I'm excited that next year Makenna will get to be a part of it.

Here she is in her pretty Easter dress.

The Sabin Family

Makenna and cousin Jared. Check out that smile!

Cousins

The girls did NOT want their pictures taken. Jared thought it was cool as long as he got to wear his shades. What a stud!

Makenna of course had to have a blow out TWICE on Easter luckily not in her pretty dress but in both her Easter outfit and her extra outfit. Luckily I had jammies in the diaper bag to. Here she is taking a bath in the sink at Nana and Papa's house. She won't fit in that sink much longer!

Cuddling in her bunny jammies and her new ducky she got in her Easter basket.

~New Camera~
We got a new camera last week, we have been wanting one for a long time but things never seemed to work out financially. We got a decent tax return this year so we were able to finally get our camera we have been wanting for a long time! We are still learning how to use it to take really nice pictures. Good thing it is pretty user friendly. Here are some pretty pictures we have taken of our little Makenna Grace.
This is my favorite picture! She is such a sweet baby girl!

Cutie pie!

Makenna loves eating her hands. Evidently they taste delicious!

Her play mat is probably the best toy for new babies! She kicks and plays for over an hour sometimes! She thinks it is just the best!

After researching jogging strollers for what seemed like forever. I finally made up my mind and bought a stroller. Here is Makenna after our maiden voyage. She just woke up, she slept the whole time.

Bright Eyes!

Bath time is Makenna's very favorite! She splashes and kicks and has so much fun!

Fresh from the tub! I love her little smerk!

A work in progress...

I entitled this blog a work in progress because I have been working on this for about 2 weeks now and every time I sit down to start typing a certain cute little baby thinks my attention needs to be solely focused on her and not blogging but I'm not going to mention any names.
So first of all, Makenna is 2 months old already! That certainly flew by fast for me! She had her two month well check on the 26th and weighed in at 9 pounds 10.5 ounces and measured 21.5 inches long, which puts her in the 20th percentile for both height and weight. She's a little on the petite side but she has been gaining weight steadily so her Dr isn't concerned. Makenna is right on track development wise and is perfectly healthy. She received her first round of immunizations which she was NOT thrilled about. I was so nervous for her but she really did better than I thought she would. Thank goodness for Tylenol though. The picture below is the pathetic look she gave me all day, she just looked so sad!
A couple weeks ago, we went to visit Nick's family. It was a busy weekend! Amie had her 14th birthday so we got to celebrate her big day, Nick's dad was released as bishop of their ward, and Brook was the lead in his high school's musical production of Kiss Me Kate. The musical was the first time Nick and I went out without Makenna. I almost started crying as we were leaving his parents house but then I realized we will both survive for a couple hours and I did, and well so did she! Nick's Mom got to babysit and she said she had a lot of fun. Brook was absolutely incredible! He has really matured as a singer and actor since his performance in guys and dolls last year. We were so proud of him and just in awe of his talent! Way to go Brook!
In other news, Makenna smiles now! This is her on St. Patty's day, dressed all festive in her green with a cute grin on her face.
She certainly couldn't be pinched on St. Patrick's day.
Makenna got a new dress, and I think she looks SUPER cute in it.
She has also recently discovered her hands taste delicious and has them almost always in her mouth.
Nick and I are both doing good also. For Nick, dirt bike season has begun. Last weekend he had an overnight trip with his friends Brian and Freddie. They had a lot of fun and are looking forward to another trip in two weeks. Nick's birthday is coming up and he is going to Boston with his Dad, Mom and brother Brook in couple of weeks. I am enjoying my last couple of weeks home with Makenna before I head back to work on April 22nd. I am so blessed that I have been able to spend so much time home with her. I also am blessed to have a job that I enjoy, it makes the thought of going back to work happy and I am not dreading it at all.

Makenna's Blessing Day

Makenna was blessed at church on Sunday March 7. For those of you who don't know what a baby blessing is, it is a special blessing that is given to the baby by a worthy male member of the church, typically the father of the baby. In the LDS church children are not baptized until they are 8 years old so as babies they are blessed as infants so their names can be placed in the records of the church. In the blessing the baby's name is stated and they are given a special blessing of things that are wished for the child to have through out their life. Nick did a great job and gave Makenna a very beautiful blessing. Makenna wore a very special and beautiful dress that Nick's Grandpa Hansen wore when he was christened 84 years ago. After the blessing we had an amazing lunch that our mom's put together for all of our family that attended the blessing at Nick's Grandma and Grandpa's house. We had a great time!
The Sabin family right after church.
A better picture of us at the "after party."

Papa Steve and Nana Carole
Sleeping like an angel all dressed in white.
She wasn't thrilled about getting MORE pictures taken but I had to show off the whole dress. She looked so beautiful!
And I had to show off the booties Nick's Aunt Vicki made for her. They are so cute! Vicki is literally the most talented person I know!
It was a wonderful and very special day!
